Fining with Paul:

  • Tom Nolan – fined for botching Carlotta’s name when he announced her as a guest.  But he got a credit for his fined because Tom and his wife took in two foster kids.

  • Liz Ricahrdson fined for insulting the fine master.  She presented a flag form the Brockport club where she recently made up a meeting.

  • Greg Sadwick missed a couple meeting because he is going to school for his MBA.

  • Laurel Harrington fined for missed meeting; she took trip camping to Wellsboro Pa.

  • Ed D'Angelo – fined for trip to Michigan/Washington football game.  A few cigars were smoked.

  • Jim Gaudet fined for missed meeting because he took his daughter to Loyola University in Baltimore.

  • Joe Distante fined for his great grandson’s achievements on the golf course.  His one great grandson has received a golf scholarship to North Carolina Univ. and the other won the club championship at Ridgemont.

  • Mike Perotto took anniversary trip to Lake George.

  • Mike Sofia took trip with his sons to the 3rd Annual Father/Son camping trip @ Letchworth.  He confessed that fellow Rotarian Tom Shay has excellent kids but Tom’s language was atrocious.  His kids learned a bunch of new word that weekend.

  • Tom Shay was fined for interrupting Mike’s confession

  • Dan Richardson fined for flying his plane.

  • Judy Collins fined for trip to twelve casinos, 5 states in 6 days.

  • Gabe Geiger missed many meetings took trip to Marineland, casino with wife daughter, mother and aunt.

  • Bill VonDohlen trips to Kansas City and Charleston

  • Paul Chatfield took day trip to Old Forge hardware store.

  • Al Meilutis, Ralph DeStephano, Dave Fisher fined for missed meetings.

 

Announcements:

President Bill presented Past President Del Smith with a plaque honoring his service last year as our club president.  It was not here for the installation dinner.

 

Margaret Hare Brown dinner – Greece Marriott October 23rd.  Ralph DeStephano will be providing more information in the upcoming weeks.

 

Save this Date

Sept. 21 – Governor’s Dinner – District Governor Don Alhart will address the Area 9 clubs (of which Greece is included) in the district at the dinner.  The event will be held at the Beahan Road Party House.  A wheelchair ensemble called the “Moving Experience Group” will perform the entertainment.   Reservation forms are available at the weekly meetings.  The sign up sheet is at the weekly meetings. Cost: $21.00 per person

Wine Tour

Ed D’Angelo is planning a tour for the club this fall.  The event is being planned for a Saturday Sept 28th.  Wine Tour - Ed D’Angelo gave the club a run down of events planned for the wine tour.

The Cost is $60.00/per person.  The cost covers transportation and lunch along with tours of 5 wineries.

The itinerary is to meet around 8:30 am getting on bus. Arrival at Fox Run Winery @ 10:30.  This is followed by trip to Anthony Row Winery and then Glenora Winery where lunch will be served along with a tour of the winery.  The tour will then proceed to Haslet Winery and finish at Logan Ridge Estates Winery.  The tour bus will return around 7:30 - 8:00 pm

 

Reservations are being accepted on the basis of First pay/ first reservation.  This payment will be non-refundable.

LPGA Volunteer Golf Day. October 7th @ Locust hill or Raven Hill golf courses.  There is a sign up sheet at the weekly meeting or call President Bill.

 

Sunday October 27th Walk-a-Tron

@ Marketplace Mall to benefit many charitable organizations that help the disabled like the Al Sigl Center, etc.  Over 56,000 children and adults are supported by the various agencies involved with the walk. Our own Don Riley is the chairman this year and is asking our club to come up with a team to walk.

 

Today’s program and Speakers:

Joe Robach our future NYS Senator was our guest speaker today.  He reviewed what happened with the recent redistricting in NYS.  He also informed the club of the severe financial condition the state is in due to 9/11.  He thanked the club again for honoring him along with Don Riley a Paul Harris Fellow Award this last spring
