Fining with Larry:

Don Riley filled-in for Larry today.  Don based his fining levels on how good the member was at lying.  Since Rotary’s 1st  tenet of the 4 way test is “Is it the Truth?,” all members were fined very heavily for not being able to tell lies!

Greece Rotary Board Meeting Minutes

September 15, 2003

 

Host:  Jim Gaudet at First Niagara Bank

 

Bill Testa reviewed the treasurer’s report.  Savings $400, Checking $13,868, Accounts Receivable $1,950.

Fifteen members still delinquent on their dues. 

 

Dave Taylor briefed the board on the funding of Rotary International Foundation.  Dave explained that the R.I. Foundation maintains a Permanent Fund and an Annual Fund.  The Annual Fund is expended each year on R.I. Foundation activities.  The Permanent Fund is invested with long term goal of having 1 Billion dollars available to the foundation.  The Permanent Fund benefits from Rotarian’s cash contributions, Life Insurance, bequests from estates, and annuities established by Rotarians.  Dave will be bringing information on opportunities for members to contribute at future meetings.

 

International:  Old business from Carlotta’s visit.  The Putman’s experienced $400 damage to their property during a student party.  Should Carlotta not pay the damages, the board voted to be responsible for the damages. 

 

Community Service:  Chuck Krause has tentatively set October 4th as a work day at Camp Haccamo.  . 

 

Club Service:  Deborah Whitt is working with a committee on the Rotary Centennial commemoration.  She will present the committee plans at a near future meeting.

 

Old/New Business:  Area 9 Dinner has nine members currently signed up.  Will be announced at future meetings.  Cos Plantone has asked that the club look into commemorating the club members who contributed to the Rotary Lodge at the Canal Park.  John Lioi and Cos are working on a proposal.  Bill Testa will have the new member directory completed by the first week of October.  Dan Barletta will include the club by-laws on the club web site.  November 1st is the Rotary Leadership Conference.  Brad Shea reviewed the results of his membership survey.  Rich Vogelzang will condense the results of the surveys and disseminate them.  Steve Robbins requested a review of the 2004 budget with a question regarding Greece Rotary commitment to YMCA Northpoint project.  Budget will be reviewed with Treasurer Del Smith and the issue addressed at the October board meeting.
