Todays program and Speakers: Ken McClenathan - NY State DOT spoke on the current status of Greece road projects. The two major projects are the Ridge Road re-design and the paving of I-390.
Ken pointed out that the Ridge Road project from I-390 to Dewey was progressing on schedule. Medians are now being installed and soon turns from business will be one way with no crossing of the median. Phase 2 of the project (I-390 to North Greece Road) will begin in August of 2004.
The replacing of I-390 concrete is nearly completed. The resurfacing is using Profiligraph technology to create an extremely smooth surface which will reduce wear from heavy trucks and provide a superior ride to drivers. The work is done on an extremely tight schedule to minimize closings to the hours of darkness and have the road back in full use by the morning rush hour.
