A note of thanks from the Principal at Arcadia thanking the club for our support for the prom for Angela O’Laskey, the student that had recently passed away from cancer.

Ed D’Angelo reminded club members that the Greece Club 50th anniversary will be in 2008. The anniversary committee will meet immediately following today’s meeting.
Volunteers are needed to help with the political elections at the Greece Schools. Volunteers can attend a meeting.

At Monday’s board meeting, it was voted to buy a projector.
The club is looking for a laptop computer. If someone is willing to loan or donate it to the club, please contact Dan Barletta or Bill gormont.
Judy Van Bramer announced between 11/3 – 11/10 the Britton Rd Wegmans will assist with a food drive. Wegmans will collect the food items for us to give to St Joseph’s Villa and the Food Shelf. Members are asked to bring non-perishable food items to our meetings. If you bring food, then you may be eligible to receive a coupon for $2 off fining. More details to follow.
Rich Volgelzang announced that we have 14 meetings left to ziti. Start soliciting ads and ticket sales now. Ad forms and letters are on the website and printed copies at the meetings. Program Book may have a different format. New advertising option will be placing ads on the 11 X 17 placemat. 20 spots available, each $200. Fundraising goal is $45,000. Another wine suggestion is being considered. Deadline for ads and ticket money is 1/9/07. Minimum participation for each Rotarian is $250 in ticket sales or ads.
Upcoming events: 10/20: Annual Clam Bake at Rotary Lodge from 3pm till dark. $32 per person. 10/24: Margaret Brown Dinner at the Marriott. Begins at 6pm. $25 per person. Please see Dianne Berardicurti. 10/29: Special one hour event held at Geva Theatre honoring our Veterans. 7pm, no charge. 10/24: Club Assembly

Today’s program - Speaker of the Day:
Sandy McLellan, Area 9 District Governor The Advisory District Council 7120 meeting with the governor will be held in Atlanta, NY (near the southern part of Rt 390) for breakfast on 10/27/07. A Peace Scholarship is available, and Brockport State students may be interested. An ambassador scholarship may be considered next year. Area 9 is working on a fundraising activity (perhaps a night at the races) with an auction to raise funds to support Camp Haccamo. A meeting with club presidents coming up. An oratorical contest coming up. Deadlines in December and January. Students can win money. The Governor Elect event is coming up. Members are needed to host families for this event. Check out the Greece Rotary website and R/I’s website. Update your information if any changes to name, address, phones number, and such. Here’s what a few of the other clubs in our area are doing: Gates is having a pasta dinner in December and their membership is increasing, Brockport is having Poinsetta Sales. Sandy suggested that we look on the website for ideas on speakers too.
