Al Sigl Center Walk About Event:

Presented by Dan Meyers and Karen Gaefney

Who are we?                                               Al Sigl Center is a resource organization that provides shared and dedicated facilities, business services, and enhanced awareness and financial support for a partnership of independent human service agencies, to help them achieve their goals and foster the goals of people with disabilities whom they serve.

Our History
Al Sigl Center is a unique resource organization committed to meeting the needs of our eight partner agencies by providing affordable, state-of-the-art facilities, developing shared business services, and generating community awareness and philanthropic support.

Through this collaborative approach, we help our agencies achieve their goals and foster the goals of children and adults with disabilities.

In the 1960s, parents, volunteers and several social service agencies dreamed of a unique way for rehabilitation agencies to share space while maintaining distinct missions and programs. They boldly envisioned a building with classrooms, therapy suites and work areas adapted for each agency, as well as a therapeutic swimming pool and gymnasium open to all. They dreamed of a place where children and adults with a broad range of abilities and disabilities could enter and move about freely.

With the help of a caring, daring community, these innovators - people committed to the best for their family members - built their dream, Al Sigl Center.

Expansion has been dramatic - from 3,400 people served in 1968 to over 70,000 people today.
