REMINDER: LPGA Tent Managers Meeting - May 22, 7 pm at Wegman’s Market St. offices

LPGA Sign-Up sheets are being distributed; please see if family or friends are interested in helping out as well.  A good time is had by one and all!  See Brad Shea for questions/details.

See Dianne Berardicurti if you are interested in placing an ad in the Greece Buccaneer Soccer Tournament program guide.

See Mike Taylor if you are interested in hosting our incoming foreign exchange student.  We need at least one more family to join Del Smith and Kim Putnam’s families who are hosting.

7-day letter on Jim Gaudette (Del to fax info to you).  If approved, Jim would bring our membership up to 96 members – just 4 short of our goal of 100.  4 members in 40+ days – We can do it!

If you have made up any meetings please let John Zink know ASAP as he and Sue Edgett are finalizing attendance numbers for this Rotary year.

See Allan Wallace if you are interested in purchasing a Lifespan collection of recipes cookbook for only $5.00.  All the proceeds benefit the United Way.

Today Program & Speaker

Michael Warren Thomas, local food critic, wine taster, gardener and antique addressed the club.  Michael reviewed various restaurants and even had wine for sampling on hand courtesy of Heron Hill Winery.  To learn more about his vast array of interests and pursuits, check him out on WYSL Radio 1040 on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. – noon.

One interesting note, Michael is a former Rotary exchange student from Rome, NY.  According to Thomas, “Being an exchange student changed my life.”  He went on to describe the close relationship he still maintains with his host family and how he hope his children will take advantage of this “most incredible program available to students.”

Fines

  • Kim Putnam – trip to Canada

  • Gary Krauss – trip to FL and missed meetings.  Gary was fined extra due to the gender SNAFU on the floral card sent to Bob and Kim Potter. It’s a boy!

  • Carla Vossler – trip to NC

  • John Bansbach – missed meetings.  He tried to assuage the fine master with a donation to the “Prez Del’s Hair Restoration Project.”

  • Mike Taylor – sticker for new car (purchased from Mike Sofia)

  • Dick Palombi – new grandson

  • Steve Voellinger – sporting a very nice Floridian tan

  • Al Schneier – trips to Arizona and Florida.  I don’t know if the NYC trip was included.

  • John Lioi – Yes!  He actually paid for two weeks in Mexico – paltry five bucks but it was something.

After some disparaging remarks comparing Del’s haircut to a Chia Pet the 50/50 ticket was drawn and won by John Bansbach.
