Announcements: · Dan Barletta read a thank you card from the Brighton Wegmans personnel who attended last week’s meeting. · He also emphasized the deadline was quickly approaching (June 4th) for the Rotary Foundation challenge. · Jim Gaudet reminded the group about LPGA tent sign-ups and the need for a few managers on certain shifts. - Need to support LPGA at the same level this year if we expect to receive the same financial support as last year - Need to support LPGA at the same level this year if we expect to receive the same financial support as last year
· Dan Hedberg provided a Camp Haccamo update - $6500 was donated to the camp from Rotary - Day of Caring went well with volunteers primarily from Gleason and BC/BS - 150 campers have signed up to date … looking for an additional 200 … need more counselors - Check out www.HikeForHaccamo.org

Today’s Guest Speakers: Terri Abrams informed the group about the Flower City Down Syndrome Network which was established in 1991. The network is non-profit with an operation budget of $30,000 with 144 member families. They have two annual fundraisers. Some things to note about Down Syndrome: - Many different symptoms are possible - Each individual is unique - Prior to World War II the life expectancy was nine years of age - today it’s 55 - Used to be institutionalized - now living at home with school and jobs a reality
