Make up bank proposal for RI By-Laws change.

In 2005, our club submitted a proposal for RI’s Council on Legislation to consider a change in RI’s Bylaws which would allow Rotarian members to bank makeup’s for use throughout the current year from July 1st to June 30th.  The present bylaws only allow a makeup within a 2 week window around the missed meeting.  The Greece Rotary feels that the makeup proposal meets the Rotarian test of being fairer to all concerned  The proposal was submitted to District 7120 for approval in 2005, however, it came back from the conference with a recommended wording change and was approve at that time by the board.  Dan could not find any record of the general club members approving the amended proposal so it did not go to this year’s Council. Dan reviewed the amended proposal for the make up bank and asked for a motion to approve the motion.  The motion was made by Linda Blossom and seconded by Dianne Berardicurti.  After discussion, it was unanimously by voice vote. Dan will hand deliver to District Conference this year, our amended and approved proposal, so it can approved at conference and forwarded for next Council on Legislation in 2010.
