Today’s Program Gabe Geiger gave an impromptu presentation since we did not have a speaker scheduled for today since it is LPGA week. Gabe spoke about Lifespan. This is the organization he works for as the Director of Financial Services. He reviewed for the club just a few of the 30 different program offered by Lifespan.
LIFESPAN is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing information, guidance and
services that help older adults take on both the challenges and opportunities of the
second half of life. We provide many direct services, we advocate and we guide.
We also provide community and professional education.
LIFESPAN, founded in 1971, has provided service to Rochester area older adults
and caregivers for 30 years. The agency has a $4.4 million annual budget and
receives support from government, The United Way of Greater Rochester, numerous
foundations, private contributors and through service fees. LIFESPAN employs
approximately 70 full and part-time professionals and we assist approximately
16,000 direct service customers a year. The agency's main office is located in Brighton.
A full-service senior center (The Wolk Older Adult Center) is located downtown in
the Sibley Building.
