Announcements: Tom Shay reminds all members that the countdown to Ziti is down to the last week. Get tickets and ads sold as soon as possible. Ziti posters are available from Tom.
Gary Krauss has $10,400 in Ziti sales to date. This is $5,000 behind last year’s sales.
Don Riley is recruiting for his “Children’s Posse” to sell raffle tickets at Ziti Dinner. See Don if your children want to participate.
Brad Shea will be circulating a sign-up sheet for the clubs off-site meetings at St. Joseph’s Villa, Holmes Rd. School, RGTA, and Parklane. Sign the sheet or contact Brad so that appropriate catering can be arranged.
Sue Edgett is seeking nominations for the Girlie Goodwin Citizen of the Year award. Forms are distributed at the meetings or can be obtained from Sue Edgett or the Greece Chamber of Commerce office. Deadline for submission is February 28th.
The Greece Groundhog Day festival will be held on February 1 at the Greece Canal Park Rotary Lodge/Pavilion. Activities start at 10:00 AM and run until 3:00 PM. Activities include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, visiting birds from Braddock Bay Raptor Research Center, face painting for children, lumberjack demo, food, and much more.
Today’s program and Speakers: Judy Darweesh spoke on the Greece Public Library’s Gift Program. The library offers traditional services and has expanded to providing computer and internet access, DVDs, books on tape, and other services. The new gift program allows a person to make a tax deductible gift of $25 or more to the library in honor of an individual or organization of the donor’s choice. Books purchased with the donation will have a bookplate identifying the donor and recipient’s names. Additionally, a letter will be sent to the recipient and the donor thanking them for their contribution to the Greece Public Library. This is a great way to honor your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day or to honor anyone else who is special to you.
Old/New Business: District Conference is in Montreal this May. Bill Testa is looking for help organizing this trip.
LPGA has extended raffle ticket sales to non Rotary clubs. Each Rotary club is to attempt to coordinate with 6 community organizations. These ticket sales are to be split 50/50 with the selling organizations and the Monroe County Disabled Children program. Contact Chuck Krause for info or to help organize.
Amended Bylaws for the Greece Rotary Foundation have been approved and submitted.
The Hilton school which was to receive club funding for an automatic defibrillator has purchased the instrument out of pocket to meet state deadlines. The board has approved using the $1500 designated funds for the school’s Science Program for it’s special needs children and students at risk instead.
Treasurer’s Report: Checking account is at $14,465. Currently holding $6,000 in Ziti sales, for a total of $20, 465. Additionally, the three special funds hold a total of $43,856.
Club Service: An ad was taken out in the Greece Post for the upcoming Ziti Dinner.
The annual Christmas Party for the BOCES children has been such a success that the club is looking at the possibility of an additional party at either Easter or Halloween. Tom Lawson is putting together a committee and is looking for volunteers.
International Service: Carlotta has changed residences and is now staying at the Putman’s. She may extend her residency at the Putman’s until the end of her exchange.
Vocational Service: Colleen Meger has arranged for 12 Interact Club members to participate at Ziti Dinner. They will be participating as clowns and offering face painting and other entertainment to children.
Pam Leathersich and Christine Testa will be organizing the Bake Sale at the Ziti Dinner. All club members can expect to be contacted by them for baked goods donation.

The Greece Rotary Ziti
Dinner is this Sunday, February 2nd and will again include a Baked
Food Sale with proceeds to benefit Camp Haccamo.
We are again asking that
each Rotary member donate baked foods to the sale.

Just a reminder, the club is behind in ticket sales for this year’s Ziti Dinner as compared to last year. Tickets sales are the most important thing you can do to make this event successful. So sell you tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!
