LPGA

Three years ago, 14 Greece Rotarians took and passed a 6-hour course on food preparation and handling put on by the Monroe County Health Dept. This course was required by Wegmans and LPGA for us to operate our food concession tent during the LPGA event for the last 3 years.  It is required by Monroe County Health Dept. that at least one certified person be present while our tent is operating. And Health Dept. inspectors do visit us every day throughout the event.  With 19 different work shifts during the LPGA, you can see why we need so many certified Rotarians.

Now we must be re-certified in order to operate our food tent during the LPGA - June 17-23.  Last year our tent sold $37,000+ in food/drinks - the highest amongst the 15 Rotary clubs with concession tents.

In order to continue our participation for the next 3 years, we need to be re-certified.  Therefore the Health Dept. will conduct a 2-hour refresher course on April 23 during the evening for those members who want to continue their certification status. It will be held at Ridgmont CC or Locust Hill CC.

Those members currently certified are Bob Potter, Dave Fisher, Frank Ardino, Roger Boily, Rich Vogelzang, Bill Testa, Bill Von Dohlen, Brad Shea, Dave Nagel, Frank Carberry, Mike Taylor, Ed D'Angelo, and John Soldi.  The fee for this course is $26 per person and will be paid by our club.

If you plan to renew your certification, please e-mail (bcshea@localnet.com) or call Brad Shea (225-1288) as soon as possible.  For those Rotarians who want to be certified for the first time, also call Brad.
