Today’s Guest Speakers:

Louis Perticone, Executive Director, ARTISANworks

Rob Linton, Station Manager - Jazz 98.1

Highlights included:

·         Lou indicated that his hobby eventually spawned ARTISANworks, the largest art display in the country.  60% of the visitors are from outside the Rochester area.  An all volunteer staff runs approximately 900 programs, mainly with a senior emphasis.  It is also the only self funding art space in the country

·         Rob highlighted that Jazz 98.1 began in the early 70’s, based at Greece Athena High School.  It is now broadcasting at 15,000 watts reaching a radius of 50 miles.  The station is one of the last with a 100% jazz format, one which is not a money maker.  The station survives due to an all volunteer staff, donations and fundraisers.

·         The 2nd Annual Art Loves Jazz will be held on May 17th.  Tickets are $30/person.  The event will include a live art auction, a non-art silent auction, and will include 3 jazz ensembles.

50/50 Winner: Dan Richardson did not select the ace!

Fining (Don Riley):

A variety of fines were levied, some for legitimate “violations” and some with, shall we say, creative license.  ~$125 was collected.
